Singing teacher
Ryland Davies studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music Frederic Cox and enabled a further period of study in Italy, firstly, with Ettore Campogalliani and then with Luigi Ricci.
Ryland made his operatic debut singing Count Almaviva in 1964. Since then he has performed in all major opera houses singing leading roles such as Tamino, Lenski, Flamant, and Nemorino and is still singing at Covent Garden, Metropolitan and La Scala. Ryland has sung and made recordings with many leading orchesters and with conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Herbert von Karejan and Mistislav Rostropovich. The recent years Ryland has been teaching at The Royal Academy of Music and given many Master-Classes all over the world.
